Are You Egiptian, Indian, Colored, Black, Or African American

Part I examined the five names—Egiptian, Indian, Colored, Black, and African American—and showed how identity can involve ancestry, culture, nationality, law, community, and self-identification. Part II goes deeper, taking the reader away from the label and into the archive. The spiritual framework remains Ren, Sia, Djehuty, Ma’at, while the investigative side uses genealogy, archival records, maps, historical demography, genetics, archaeology, and oral history. This course asks: What happened to the family before the label changed? What did the record say before 'Black' or 'Colored'? Where did the family actually live? And what must remain unknown until evidence is found?
